Process intensification

Process intensification involves radically innovative principles in process and equipment design. They must bring a benefit (of more than a factor of 2) to the whole, which includes process and production line efficiency, investment and operating costs, quality, waste reduction, process safety, etc.). (Definition from the European roadmap for Process Intensification).
