Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)
WEEE comes from end-of-life electrical and electronic equipment and is considered hazardous waste under current environmental regulations because it contains regulated substances. The Environmental Code defines electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) as equipment "operating on electric currents or electromagnetic fields, as well as equipment for the production, transfer, and measurement of these currents and fields, designed for use at a voltage not exceeding 1,000 volts in alternating current and 1,500 volts in direct current ."
