photobioreactor; photobioreactor

System used to produce photosynthetic microorganisms in aqueous media under artificial or solar lighting.

COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand)

Corresponds to the amount of oxygen needed to oxidize to CO ₂ all the organic matter present in the water, it is used to quantify the total organic load of water.

DBO ₅ (Demande Biologique en Oxygène sur 5 jours); (BOD ₅ , Biological Oxygen Demand over 5 days)

Corresponds to the quantity of oxygen consumed in 5 days by microorganisms for the oxidation of organic matter present in water, and is used to quantify the biodegradable organic load of water.
