4. Conclusion

For several years now, the work of tuners and testers has been profoundly modified, mainly by the arrival in force of electronics and computing, both in engine control and in measurement and test equipment. In the past, the job consisted of fine-tuning by adjusting parameters and settings on the test bench, whereas today, with the arrival of ECUs, all operating possibilities must be considered, as well as the transition from one set-up state to another.

There is more and more testing, but above all more and more automation and decision-support tools, given the complexity of ECU systems.
