2. Axial turbines: design and operation

2.1 Floor design

The aim is to design the most efficient stage with excellent reliability, while complying with certain design constraints (e.g. limiting machine weight).

The efficiency of the stage will be defined as the ratio of the work supplied on the shaft to the available isentropic enthalpy drop Δh˜ that we defined in paragraph 1.4.1
