12. Conclusion

From a purely technical point of view, the electric car has a number of advantages over the internal combustion engine: it pollutes very little locally (fine particles) and emits no CO 2 . It is also much quieter. It is perfectly suited if you have not too long journeys to make and if you recharge your battery at home or at work.

The cost of use is interesting if you don't have to recharge the battery at public or private outdoor charging stations, where electricity rates are much higher. It's difficult to put an exact figure on this, however, as electricity prices vary from one station to another. What's more, taxes are flourishing in this area as governments seek to compensate for the loss of revenue they have on liquid fuels.
