2. Experimentation and performance

Cycle modeling has several objectives. In the first case, based on experimental results from existing engine test benches, the cycle study enables a more precise analysis of the results obtained, with the possibility of extending the conclusions to an unexplored operating domain. A second case is the performance study, with the idea of designing a new engine described using specific constraints (P max , T max , injection law...). In any case, to make the numerical results obtained plausible, it is often necessary to have a base of experimental results for setting a certain number of sub-model parameters (cf. article ).
