5. Conclusion

This overview of droplet combustion in engines is by no means exhaustive; supersonic combustion, for example, is not included. We have tried to give an overview of what is being done on different modeling problems, referring to basic knowledge and also presenting some aspects of recent research. Modeling implies the use of mathematical language, which is necessary in mechanics and physics; there is therefore a more developed theoretical part – although limited – in paragraph 2
