3. Fog evolution

3.1 Description

Multiphase flows - gas flows with solid or liquid particles, liquid flows with vapor bubbles or solid or liquid particles of another phase - involve exchanges between phases, chemical reactions, particle disintegration and agglomeration, and various interactions between particles.

Describing fluid-particle exchanges is a problem in itself, and requires modeling at the particle scale to determine, for example, the effects of friction, the regression speed of a burning drop, etc. These exchange laws must then be translated to the scale of the multiphase mixture, and the balance equations written and solved. These exchange laws must then be translated to the scale of the multiphase mixture, and the balance equations written and solved....
