1. Description of need
The best way to express a need is to illustrate the description of the problem by means of a synoptic diagram of the installation, using standardized graphic symbols.
1.1 Graphic symbols
Graphic symbols are defined by the DIN 28401 . Some of those commonly used are shown in the figure. 1 . Elbows, crosses and tees are not defined by the standard, but when sizing an installation, it is necessary to know their presence, number and dimensions (diameter, length). It is therefore important to show them on a diagram.
