4. Pumping a gas stream
An industrial vacuum installation is likely to be traversed by numerous gas flows that are often difficult to estimate or measure. This is one of the reasons why any plant calculation that gives a result within 30% can be considered a very good calculation.
4.1 Gas flow types
Desorption flow, which becomes predominant during volume pumping in the high-vacuum range, is not always the only gas flow to be taken into account.
