Path; groove, track

Raceway or track on which balls or rollers roll.

O layout; O layout

Preloaded assembly of two bearings in which the two contact angles form an O.

X assembly; X layout

Preloaded assembly of two bearings in which the two contact angles form an X.

Transverse moment; rocking moment

Moment exerted about an axis perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the bearings.

Precharge ; preload

Permanent internal axial force applied during bearing assembly to eliminate play.

Hertz pressure; Pression de Hertz

High contact pressure at log/track or roller/track contact.
