4. Relative tightness

4.1 By deformation

Thanks to their high elasticity, elastomer membranes are easier to deform than metal bellows. However, the pressure resistance of this type of seal is rather limited. Elastomers reinforced with woven fabrics can provide better pressure resistance, up to a few tens of bar. An example of an elastomer membrane seal is shown in figure 13 . The angular velocity of the two shafts is strictly homokinetic.
