4. COM applications for the production of sintered and machined mechanical components

4.1 General description of the application

The aim of this section is to present the process of an application, the synthesis of intermediate results obtained and their exploitation. The types of mechanical components whose production is envisaged are illustrated in figure 9 . These are power transmission components for the automotive industry, made from sintered steel of various compositions. Production is planned with a first sintering stage and a second turning stage. Some of the operations to be carried out (grooving, facing with or without contouring, etc.) are illustrated in figure
