3. Conclusion

The tightness of an assembly is the result of a complex interplay of factors. There are no universal solutions, and the choice of technology will always represent a compromise between different parameters. It is therefore essential to integrate the sealing function right from the assembly design stage, to ensure that its sizing is consistent with the targeted level of performance. What's more, the implementation phase in the field (condition of sealing faces, tightening control, etc.) also has a major influence on sealing performance.
