2. Mechatronics design process. Different aspects

The designer's objective is to provide a product that conforms as closely as possible to the needs expressed in the specifications supplied by the customer, and throughout its entire life cycle.

Based on this objective, the process of designing and building a mechatronic system can be broken down into the so-called "V-cycle" approach. This is a methodical, structured approach that supports the designer throughout the project, from specifications to system acceptance testing, as specified in the draft experimental standard XP E 01-013 on the life cycle and design of mechatronic products (figure 6 ).
