3.1 How to use the form

The algebraic expressions for the stresses on the cross-sections of a straight beam subjected to any loading and any end conditions (rigid and frictionless connections, however) are deduced from the expressions for the stresses ν (x ), τ ( x ), μ (x ) calculated for the associated isostatic span and the stresses (N D , M fG , M fD ) on the end sections according to the formulas given previously.
