3.1 Representation of distributed stiffness

This is taken into account by a massless torsion spring whose stiffness can no longer be calculated using conventional strength-of-materials results. In this case, straight sections do not deform by remaining flat, but undergo a warping that can be assumed to be independent of the section considered. We have : Mt=GJTαL
