3. Conclusion

Over the years, the search for and development of more mechanically efficient metallic materials has naturally led to an enrichment of the normative bases for the definition of steels and aluminum alloys. The presentation of the various potentially usable grades, classified in the form of comparative tables in terms of mechanical characteristics and weldability, facilitates the designer's task when making the choice required during the definition phase of a welded structure.
