4. Mechanical strength

Mechanical strength is mainly related to the microstructure of the brazed joint, but also to the design of the joint, the nature of the materials assembled, the grade of the brazing alloy (figure 8 ), the heating medium and the assembly method (figure 9 ). It is also important to emphasize that mechanical strength is not always the primary requirement for a brazed joint, and priority may then be given to sealing, corrosion resistance or a critical temperature not to be exceeded (associated heat treatment, curie point, etc.).
