5.1 Cutting speeds Vc

Given the particularity of the broaching cycle: linear motion involving large masses successively accelerated and braked, speeds remained very low for a long time. The arrival of new generations of hydraulic and, above all, electromechanically-controlled machines has made it possible to increase these speeds. The following values represent a recommended average for high-speed steel towed spindles:
