3.1 Elastic return

Controlling the geometry of flat product parts has always posed problems in the industrial environment. The phenomenon of springback (figure 22 ) is often associated with material properties; however, process control is easier by acting on process parameters than on sheet properties.

The factors already mentioned, particularly those associated with material production and design, have an impact not only on the mechanical quality of the product, but also on its geometry. Shape error can therefore depend on three distinct sets of factors:
