2.1 Classification
Several criteria can be used to classify welding processes: the type of energy used, the type of metal bath protection, the origin of metal continuity formation (liquid or solid phase), process performance... Even if each classification contains its share of arbitrariness, these means are necessary in that they help to memorize all the processes and to position them in relation to one another.
