Érik DUJARDIN is a CNRS research fellow in the nanoscience group at the CEMES center for materials development and structural studies.

Frank ARTZNER is a CNRS research fellow at the Institut de Physique de Rennes, Université Rennes 1.

Biomineralization refers to the natural mineralization processes that produce a wide variety of inorganic structures such as teeth, bones, shells and carapaces. These architectures, which come in a wide range of sizes, are used by an incredible diversity of organisms and serve primarily as skeletons or exoskeletons.
