3. Synthesis of semiconductor nanocrystals in the liquid phase
3.1 Classification of synthesis methods
Methods for the liquid-phase synthesis of semiconductor nanocrystals can be classified into two broad categories:
room-temperature processes, which involve precipitating nanocrystals in aqueous media, either in the presence of stabilizers (method A.1, "precipitation in water in the presence of stabilizers") or in reverse micelles (method A.2, "reverse micelle synthesis");
high-temperature reactions in non-aqueous media, based on the separation in time of the nucleation and growth stages of nanocrystals; either organometallic precursors (method B.1, "organometallic synthesis") or complexes of inorganic precursors, oxides or salts (method B.2, "synthesis by inorganic precursors")...
