2. Production methods

There are two main methods for producing metal nanofoams.

  • The oldest is selective dissolution (dealloying), patented by Raney for the synthesis of Ni for catalysis. . Selective dissolution was already used by Andean peoples to enhance the surface of jewelry by extracting copper from Au-Cu alloys.
