5. Conclusion

Nanotechnologies are increasingly well mastered, particularly by suppliers to the textile industry: filament and fiber manufacturers, manufacturers of functional treatments (primers, surface treatments), and membrane manufacturers. There are many industrial applications in the textile field, although the contribution of nanotechnologies, i.e. the nano effect, is not often highlighted.

Textiles are first and foremost functional materials. The highly technical nature of the products required for the target markets (aeronautics, medical, luxury goods, personal protective equipment, sports) calls for the design of multifunctional systems, based on multimaterials and functionalized materials. It is in this mastery of materials, from the fiber to the finished product, that all the added value of the textile industry's innovative and traditional know-how lies.
