6. Conclusion

As we have seen in this article, nanotechnologies, which enable the manipulation of matter on the smallest conceivable scale, will bring about a range of significant changes in sectors as diverse as the environment, health, or information and communication. However, nanotechnologies will only be acceptable if they are accompanied by appropriate studies and analyses to ensure their harmonious impact on our lives and societies. After years of reflection, research and doubt, it is clear that nanotechnologies, the result of innovative research in physics, chemistry and biology, have two applications: one in the medical field, and the other in information and communication, both of which represent real innovation efforts.
