4. Energy use of thermoelectric phenomena

The intrinsic coupling of thermal and electrical energy at the electron level results in the complete reversibility of energy conversion possibilities. It is possible to achieve:

  • either an electric generator that will be a thermal receiver;

  • either a thermal generator (heat pump) that will be an electrical receiver.

These operations can be illustrated by the figure 8 .
