6. Recent developments and innovative processes in electropolishing

Since 2015, the literature indicates a renewed interest in the academic and industrial world for electropolishing, which accompanies the deployment of metal additive manufacturing. On a national scale, the AFTER ALM (for AFTER-Additive Layer Manufacturing) project led by IRT M2P (2017-2021) aims to develop and evaluate different finishing processes for parts resulting from additive manufacturing (SLM/EBM). The project brings together major industrial contractors such as Airbus, Safran, Liebherr, Collins Aerospace, Stelia, NavalGroup and ArianeGroup.
