1. Radioecological impact of nuclear sites

The main definitions, which may be necessary for the reader of this text, are given in the article , § 1.1.

Sediment deposition zones, which are good fixers of certain radioelements, are interesting from this point of view. The Rhône delta and prodelta are particularly suitable study sites, given the number of nuclear facilities located in the Rhône basin [71] .

In the case of an accident situation such as that following the explosion at the Chernobyl power plant, with highly variable spatial fallout, comparisons with areas unaffected by liquid or gaseous discharges are essential, and permanent radioactivity observatories come into their own. They must be able to measure radioactivity in all compartments of the biosphere...
