The very definition and purpose of radioecology are currently the subject of much debate. The material and human resources devoted to it in industrialized countries are showing signs of decline. And this seems to be linked to the global debate on the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.

However, publications and congresses dealing exclusively or in part with radioecology [87] are still relatively numerous.

Radioactivity levels are undoubtedly falling as a result of improved effluent treatment techniques. But, at the same time, other questions are being raised in relation to the storage of waste on the surface or at depth. This means, on the one hand, that metrology needs to be able to measure trace radioelements, and on the other, to diversify and increase its measurement...
