2. Similarity. Models and prototypes

In this paragraph, we seek to establish the conditions that must be met so that the results of experimental measurements and the conclusions and correlations established from the study of a physical process using a model can be used to describe the physical process in the case of the problem studied, which is also called the prototype case.

2.1 Highlighting similar flows

In the case of incompressible fluid flow, the Navier-Stokes equation ( , eq. (51) ) is written :
