3. Moist air diagram

All the quantities relating to a given state of moist air can be represented on a single diagram called the "moist air diagram".

This diagram is constructed in relation to two main axes. There are two main types of diagram, whose representations are roughly equivalent:

  • the Mollier diagram with oblique axes, which gives the mixing ratio as a function of the enthalpy of mass and enables other characteristics of humid air to be represented (dew point temperature, wet bulb temperature, temperature, etc.);

  • Carrier diagram: this is the most commonly used diagram. It is presented as follows: on the abscissa is the axis of the various temperatures measured in the humid air domain (dew point temperature, wet temperature, temperature), and on the ordinate is the axis of the mixing ratio....
