3. Examples of inverse thermal convection problems

3.1 Preliminaries

In this section, we briefly present some applications of inverse problems in thermal convection, studied in particular in thermal laboratories in France over the last decade. In all cases, this work has been carried out numerically, but also for the most part experimentally. They have been the subject of several publications in international thermal science journals. Given that the "confrontation" of a model with experimental results in general is not a trivial process, it is interesting to observe through these examples how the "inverter-experimenter" can benefit in practice from the inverse approach, in his analysis.
