4. Equipartition in discrete machines and processes

We will now show how the notion of equipartition can be found in systems very different from those examined above, in particular systems involving discrete components and different forms of energy or matter transformation. To illustrate this, we'll start with a multi-stage compressor.

4.1 Optimizing multi-stage gas compression or expansion
