7. Conclusion

The emergence of Li-ion battery technology is a major breakthrough in electrochemical energy storage. Its development has supported, and to a certain extent ensured, the expansion of the mobile electronics market over several decades. The evolution and diversification of electrode and electrolyte materials used, as along with manufacturing technologies, are today leading to unrivalled performance in terms of energy density and variations adapted to multiple uses. This technology, now mature, is still likely to see progress in terms of energy density thanks to the use of new electrode materials.
