8. Conclusion

Alongside solar energy, wind power is currently the fastest-growing energy source. It has reached a competitive price level (€50 to €80/MWh), which will become even more so as the price of fossil fuels, currently low, rises.

What's more, thanks to the development of land-based offshore wind power and, in the future, floating offshore wind power, the growth potential for wind power is still enormous.
