An analysis of the specialized literature on thermoacoustic systems (motors or receivers) already provides some essential sizing rules on a case-by-case basis:

  • dimensional constraints on stack or regenerator hydraulic radius, length, etc. ;

  • the position of the porous medium in the waveguide (for example, a regenerator is generally positioned near a velocity node to limit viscous dissipation);

  • the values of the aeraulic impedances (ratio of the pressure amplitude to that of the acoustic velocity of the fluid) of the acoustic circuit to be respected for a correct adjustment of the phases between pressure and gas flow;...
