HEAT EXCHANGER :
A device that transfers heat from one flow (hot smoke from an engine) to another (water or air for heating), without the substances mixing directly.
polygeneration system :
A system that simultaneously generates mechanical and electrical energy, as well as heat or cooling, from a single fuel source. Waste heat from an electrical process can also be partially recovered for heating and steam generation.
industrial heat pumps :
Pump capable of raising the temperature level of recovered heat for use in applications requiring higher temperatures.
steam turbine, gas turbine and combined cycle :
Turbines expand superheated steam or combustion products to generate electricity.
