6. Thermal insulation applications

In this section, thermal insulation is presented by field of activity, to illustrate the multitude of uses to which this energy improvement technique can be put, and to present concrete examples of applications.

6.1 Habitat

In France, housing is one of the key sectors in the fight against global warming. It accounts for 43% of national energy consumption, or 660 TWh, and nearly 25% of CO 2 emissions (data published by the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Solidarity in December 2016).
