4. Conclusion

This article reports on the main specific configurations for cold production and heat recovery. The choice of these configurations has been guided by the state of the art of theoretical and experimental knowledge in each field, with particular reference to the current industrial impact. This does not rule out other potentially promising configurations for the future. Thermomagnetic machines come to mind in particular, with significant developments in recent years. [BE 8 097] .
