5. Conclusion

The regulatory and environmental context in which the refrigerated transport industry operates has led to a revival over the past decade of cryogenic solutions that were previously little known or exploited.

The manufacturers involved, particularly the gas companies, have been able to innovate and adapt to the uses of this market by offering cold production units using nitrogen or/and CO 2 depending on the relevance of one or the other to the operational constraints of the transport segment addressed: parcels, isothermal containers, light commercial vehicles, rigids, trailers or semi-trailers.

Today, these solutions are operational, safe, reliable and autonomous, with low energy consumption and reduced environmental impact thanks to their low noise and low pollution levels.
