2. Water chiller unit

2.1 Problem data

We plan to cool 17 m 3 · h –1 of water from 12°C to 6°C using a monobloc chiller, cooled by air at 30°C, running on HFC R 407C.

HFC R 407C is a zeotropic blend of refrigerants (23% R 32, 25% R 125, 52% R 134a) with no ozone-depleting properties and a GWP of 1,600. It has a pronounced temperature shift (see [B 9 730] ). In practice, this is reflected in a rise in temperature during evaporation and a fall in temperature during condensation (figure 2 ).
