4. Conclusion

This document provides readers with the means to help make safe any cryogenic system in its operating phase, and in any situation causing accidental overpressure in the pressurized equipment of the system. In this case, literature values of heat flux allow estimates of heat inputs for the main cryogenic fluids. A method for sizing the safety device that includes the important case of a two-phase fluid is presented. This method is supported by important design recommendations listed at the end. They guide designers in their safety engineering calculations, and optimize the sizing of the associated safety devices. Lastly, some recommendations for operation are also given for safe use of all cryogenic systems.
