1. Context
In 2016, it was estimated that between 1 and 1.4 billion tonnes of biomass from renewable forestry and agricultural residues and waste could be put to better use in Europe by 2030. . For this reason, the European Commission launched the PATHFINDER CHALLENGE Novel routes to green hydrogen production call for projects in 2021, in which biomass electrolysis was proposed as a promising option for the production of hydrogen and value-added compounds
