Hydrogen is an invisible, odorless gas, the first element on the periodic table. It is the lightest and most abundant chemical element on Earth, present in water and hydrocarbons (coal, oil, natural gas). It is not an energy source, but an "energy carrier" that requires energy to be produced before it can be used.
