4. Conclusion

The production of green, renewable hydrogen from co-electrolysis of water and carbon compounds, pyrolysis and gasification of biomass and biowaste, biogas reforming and biological conversion of biomass and biowaste has been discussed in this article with a view to applications in aeronautics. Different processes and their maturity scale were presented. The state of the art as well as the advantages and disadvantages of each of these processes were developed. This demonstrated the significant potential of thermoconversion and biological processes as future solutions for the production of low-carbon, renewable hydrogen from biomass and biowaste in a circular economy perspective, given the often local availability of bioresources.
