5. Conclusion

Thanks to its zero-emission potential, the hydrogen combustion engine is now a key element in the mobility landscape. Complementary to electrified technologies such as battery-powered electric vehicles and fuel cells, it offers the advantage of using well-known, proven technologies, competitive manufacturing costs, simple raw material supply logistics (identical to those for fossil fuels) and, above all, the use of an industrial tool already in place worldwide.

The development of hydrogen-powered combustion engines is not without its challenges, however. Hydrogen's combustion properties differ from those of fossil fuels, requiring modifications to engine design to achieve optimum efficiency and satisfactory performance.
