 INTRODUCTION

When the water pressure of urban distribution systems becomes insufficient to supply the upper floors of buildings, a self-contained, automatic pressure boosting system is required.

The regulations in force on this subject are fairly complex. In fact, the Plumbing and Sanitaryware guild, founded on a code dating back to May 1942, is governed by :

  • standards ;

  • unified technical documents (DTU) ;

  • regulations ;

covering a wide range of subjects of interest to the profession: drinking water supply, sanitary water distribution, fire protection, including of course in each case regulations on the choice of piping, wastewater disposal, etc.
